Finding the descendants of Jesus Christ with DNA?

Bryn Firkins
Its been over a year since my last blog post but tonight after watching "The da Vinci code" again on channel 5, I find myself pondering an unusual question to myself.

"Is our government trying to track down the descendants of Jesus Christ?"...

If, as in Dan Browns novel "the da Vinci code", you believe that Jesus had either a son or daughter with Mary Magdalene, and they themselves had children, the chances are there maybe descendants of Jesus Christ alive today, maybe even reading this blog ;-)

Now, the U.K and most other western countries are growing their own national database's of peoples DNA. The FBI in America already have over 6 million people indexed. The UK database surpassed 1,000,000 back in November 2000 and now want to have peoples DNA recorded at birth. Why?

Well, presuming that someone already has the DNA of Mary Magdalene or of Jesus Christ himself, it would be simple to cross reference that DNA with everyone's DNA within a database, and hay presto, you've found yourself a living descendant of Jesus Christ...

Whether the intension of creating a world DNA database is to find the descendants of Jesus or not. The fact remains it seems a real possibility that if they go ahead and get everyone's DNA recorded, we maybe able to find the descendents of Jesus Christ, and maybe even God himself...

I don't think even Dan Brown saw that one coming....

Google loses 20 million Amazon web pages

Here's a trick.. how can you make 20,000,000 web pages disappear? Easy, use Google..

I found a little quirk in the site: inclusion report in Google this morning.

Doing a search for "site:www.amazon.co.uk" initially shows 2.1 million pages found,

but click the search button a few more times and it shoots upto 28,000,000 pages found.

So which is it Google? 2,00,000 or 28,000,000 .. i would presume the latter but if your in a hurry and do a quick search for "site:www.amazon.co.uk" you'd report 2.1 million, you wouldn't keep clicking search ( like it did ).

You'd probably just take the first 2.1 million result and move on.

So what other "site: domains" have we reported got wrong in the past, makes you think...

So remember to click the search button a few times before you take the results shown.

It seems this problem has something to do with cookies...!

Mobile Phones are the new Security Blankets

When was the last time you saw a teenager WITHOUT a mobile phone? Have you ever seen the state people get into when they can't find their phone?

It dawned on me the other day that Mobile Phone's aren't only essential business tools or simple communication devices, they're like a security blanket, but ones that will stick with us until we die.

My 3 year old has 2 little comforters called Fred and baby Fred, they're little teddy bears that must be taken with her everywhere.. without fail, the normal classic security blanket thing.

However, the difference is she should grow out it, but now I'm starting to think that she wont... that it'll be replaced with a mobile phone.

{Picture Above} The FIREFLY Mobile Phone for Kids (Original). The FIREFLY new handset aims to put a mobile phone in the hands of children ages 8-12.

The mobile phone seems to be the 21st century security blanket for all ages, from 8 to 80, we'll have our techno comforter with us at all times, and if we lose it or misplace it we'll cry like little babies until we either find it or replace it, but we'll never be without it..

If I'm right and lets say you agree and the mobile phone is some sort of life long security blanket, just for a minute imagine that the mobile phone was replaced with the classic security blanket... can you imagine someone walking round with that when they're 30... taking it into pubs, clubs, the toilet, down the shops, to their friends & to work... would look a little strange don't you think ...

I bet your mobile phone is right next to you right now or you know exactly where it is, if not and you dont know where it is, i bet you start to panic...

Video found in Google Adwords PPC

Looks like Google.com have rolled out a new secret weapon for Pay Per Click ( AdWords ) .. Video PPC ?

No longer have we got to put up with simple boring text ads, now it seems we can have streaming video right under the ad !!

Take a look at the screenshot i took a few minutes ago... using the Google Adpreview service I made a search for "Cell Phones" on Google.com as if I were actually in the States myself. If you do the search from within the UK you'll just see the normal UK adword Ads ( for now anyway ).. Here's what i Got..

This will undoubtedly be rolled out to the U.K Google pretty soon..

If you want to see it for yourself go to Adpreview and do what I did..

If you find any other ones, please post a comment here.

Google causes World War 3 ?

OK that maybe a bit harsh..! but could it be true? Take a closer look at Google earth some day and you'll find that countries like China aren't best pleased with Google.

I, like you probably, have used Google earth to view places I've visited or plan to visit someday. But did you know that you could zoom in on secret military bases? Area 51? or even secret Chinese nuclear submarines....

The later is the one china takes special exception too.. the fact we can all see in plane view one of their top secret ( no more ) nuclear submarines..

Take a look at my quick video below or click here to view on google maps

Although this isn't news to most people it certainly raises the a question, "Should Google take into account the wishes of other nations when photographing the Earth?".

For example, if China asks Google not to photograph certain places like the the Zhongnanhai leadership compound in Beijing, an area normally off limits to prying public eyes, should Google respect their wishes.. or simply carry on without a care in the world :-)
